4:46p - White Sands
Thankyou everyone for your thoughts on that last entry. I greatly appreciate all your support, and it serves to remind me what a wonderful group of people you are. Thankyou once again.

The funeral will be at 2:30pm on Wednesday. I'm glad in some ways, as I have Wednesday afternoons moreorless free, although the expectations upon me to be there a few hours early, and to stay until the end of following gathering means that I would miss my German Translation lesson at 12 and then the planned first meeting of the Writers' Circle at 6pm. I can reschedule the Writers, although this means moving it to Monday. I wouldn't want to cancel it as it's already the third week of term, and the later I let it slip, the more interest will wane. I desperately want it to succeed, because it falls utterly under my responsibility, and I want to do my best. The only way I could manage to avoid missing the Translation lesson is through taking a lift with Anna, although I am yet to ask her, so we'll see.

Oh, of course I understand that it is a legitimate reason for me to miss a lesson or two. I maintain, however, that provided the lessons do not encroach on the actual funeral and the important parts either side, then I don't gain anything from missing them. I'd have to catch up in any case. It's no great change from my attitude on Tuesday, although I know that funerals are emotionally charged and I won't avoid tears this time, especially when I've been crying over sad stories lately. Does that mean I hold the stories more important than my grandmother? No, for these stories are tragic, whilst the loss of my grandmother was natural. I know I have a slanted view on life, I always have, and that's just part of who I am.

Otherwise, the world keeps turning.

I'm going to be busy this year. 7 essays a term? Start early! )

Weekly [info]llieno-news Digest
Astrid claimed last week that I look gothic and would thus go do well as a language assistant at a German school next year...I know I'm a romantic, and I have 'gothique' tendancies, but...

Oh, and I've been doing a fair bit of wikipeding lately. Not so much the reading (although I did for Japanese History), but the editing, creating and debating. I've spent a fair while adding to the article on Peter Longerich, my German Film lecturer, so you can see why I'm slightly in awe of him.

Shout-outs to RHUL people Chiara, Judith ([info]venturesprite), Katie ([info]mentalsarcasm), Máire([info]ticca), Dat-fay, Laura, Miranda, Martin, Rachel and Fearn for being fantastic these past few days. People like Viv have also been wonderful, but then I see you enough to tell you that, ne, [info]alatier?
