6:24p - The Pre-Mortlake Intricacies
Life at the moment, whilst feeling slightly stretched, is hardly without its curiosities. On Thursday, for example, I found an Open University prospectus waiting for me. Um, okay, but I never ordered one. The letter inside claimed I’d requested three prospectuses, and contained my name (Elle O’Neill) and my address…but the birthday date was five days off my true birthday. All I can think is that someone put my name down for it, although I don’t know who, or why. Another point to ponder arrived when I logged into Facebook last night, to find a comment left by someone at RHUL I don’t know, asking, and I quote, ‘R u a boy or a girl?’. This is considering that I have both photos of myself up on Facebook, and that my Facebook account is in my (male) birthname. I’m tempted to be flattered, but I can’t really see how he could get that from my profile picture, so I’m assuming they didn’t bother to look…

Watching TV during my time at home was an odd experience, after some time of isolation. I couldn’t help but squee at the large flag flying close to the stage at the Last Night of the Proms: it was the flag of Lovely, the micronation founded by Danny Wallace, over which the BBC aired a series last year. I also enjoyed watching Eggheads, but I’m now eager to go on that myself. I figure that I’d be a good match for any of the Eggheads for the Geography round, and my General Knowledge isn’t bad, although I’d need a team with specialists in Science, Cookery, Sports, History and the like. Ah well, maybe someday.
It’s ironic. I have some spare time when I wake up this morning, so I decided to see what I was doing a year ago, by checking my LJ for that date. What was the entry about? It was an update on what I’d been doing a year before that, as well as week before and after. I’m slightly confused. What is so special about the 17th September ?
